More About the Region:

The Hills

From The Hills to The Hawkesbury, make your conference an escape from the every day!

Rich in natural beauty, The Hills district stretches from urban Sydney through rural villages to the magnificent Hawkesbury River. All this within 90 minutes from the Harbour Bridge.

The Hills – With the dubious honour of hosting Australia’s first rebellion in 1804, The Hills district is now a vibrant, cosmopolitan centre with modern shopping and entertainment precincts. A smorgasbord of quality restaurants and cafes cover the region, which is also considered the Bonsai capital of Australia. The leafy streets border open bushland and the area hosts Sydney’s only State Forest.

The Villages - The historic towns of Galston and Dural form a gateway to a myriad of nurseries, fruit orchards, hobby farms and country crafts. In the warmer months, roadside stalls offer a variety of fruit, vegetables and flowers sold direct from the grower. These hamlets also hide antique and craft stalls or boutique galleries where you can chat with the artist at work.

The Hawkesbury River – Meandering from the Pacific Ocean at Pittwater through Brooklyn to picturesque Wisemans Ferry, the Hawkesbury forms a peaceful boundary for the Sydney region. Join a tour of Brooklyn’s oyster farms, explore the river via kayak from beautiful Berowra Waters or try waterskiing at Wiseman’s Ferry. Discover tranquil tributaries from a luxurious houseboat or hide away in a B&B. A walk along the convict built Great North Road is a must.
